Fredericksburg, VA – September 18, 2021
Over 1,700 car wash customers showed up to support the 6th Annual “Charity Car Wash” on September 18, 2021, in support of Empowerhouse, a nonprofit supporting survivors of domestic violence and their children. The Charity Car Wash, which took place at the recently acquired Rio Car Wash’s two Fredericksburg locations (70 Sebring Drive & Jefferson Davis Hwy), donated a record breaking $5,733 from all wash sales and additional customer donations. “For the past six years we’ve had amazing success fundraising for Empowerhouse, Fredericksburg’s largest shelter for victims of domestic violence. This year was special. GO Car Wash, which recently acquired Rio, stepped up to the plate and held the event and it turned out to be the most successful event to date,” said Jeff Small, former owner of Rio Car Wash.
Soon after acquiring Rio Car Wash, the annual charity event was brought to the attention of GO’s COO, Brett Meinberg, “After hearing about the annual charity event, we knew we had to continue the tradition. Our work to be the world’s most admired car wash company by enriching the lives of our team and customers does not stop at providing a great wash experience. It also includes enriching the communities they live in.”
Empowerhouse has been serving their communities in Fredericksburg, Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford, VA for over 37 years. Their mission is to empower survivors of domestic violence and their children to believe in themselves and build new lives filled with dignity, respect, safety, and hope. “We are so pleased about GO Car Wash’s efforts to continue supporting survivors of domestic violence and their children through the dedicated day of charity, giving 100% of your sales at both locations to Empowerhouse. This is an exceptional contribution, and we praise you for your generosity. Your gift allows us to deliver on our mission to empower survivors of domestic violence and their children,” said Kathy Anderson, Executive Director of Empowerhouse.
GO Car Wash and former Rio Car Wash owner Jeff Small would like to thank all customers who came out and supported this amazing event. Without the involvement of the great Fredericksburg community, this would not be possible.
